“And of His signs is that He created for you, of yourselves, spouses, that you (may) find rest in them, and he has made between you amity and mercy. Surely in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect.”

It all started with burgers and belly laughs, the kind that sneak up on you and stay long after the ketchup stains fade. In a little burger joint tucked in the corner of Cipete, two people who orbit in different line met and peeled back layers of conversation like they were unwrapping a surprise-filled snack. Each layer revealed something new, a story, a quirk, a shared smirk, and the unexpected center turned out to be surprisingly good. Just like that burger. Maybe even better. From that very first meeting, they were a perfect yin & yang — different in the best ways, balancing and bringing out the good in each other.
Somewhere between mismatched Roti Bakar Eddy orders and a night that didn’t go exactly as planned, something went exactly right. On that very night, Opang casually said, “Yaudah yuk,” as if love was just another spontaneous plan. Dinda, ever the thoughtful one, made him wait a couple more days before answering. Her response? “LFG.” And just like that, they were officially in it together, ready to go, even if the route was still unfolding.
Time began to move faster. So did their hearts, comfortably finding rhythm in each other’s everyday. They swapped puzzle pieces of their lives, introducing one another to favorite songs (On Melancholy Hill by Gorillaz is their top common answer btw!), strange habits, and new foods. For Opang, sushi used to be a distant stranger. Now, it’s practically a bestie, courtesy of Dinda. Cozy nights blurred into longer talks, quiet chuckles turned to loud laughter, and they found joy in the ordinary, making the mundane feel magical.
Nicknames evolved. “Opang” transformed into “Bip”, a title with too much backstory to explain, but plenty of heart. Together, they built routines out of a beautiful chaos. 5 a.m. workouts (yes, Dinda eventually showed up, thanks to Opang), shared grocery lists, long drives with even longer playlists, MRT rides to the office, and more inside jokes than an actual 10 season TV sitcom. Slowly, the big questions became smaller, the future less intimidating. the once-annoying miscommunications turned into compromises. It wasn’t just love anymore, it was partnership. Real, patient, silly, supportive. And very much theirs.
They always said 2024 would be their year. And this time, they were right. After countless conversations with their circles about “how do you know,” they finally understood what everyone meant when they said “You just knew”. Love wasn’t dramatic or loud, it was steady, kind, and wonderfully weird. Under the Sydney sky, with laughter in their lungs and certainty in their hearts, they said yes. Yes to forever, to growing old, to solving problems with Excel (tho Dinda needs more lectures from Opang), to dreaming big and living wonderfully. It was never forced. It just… fit.
Planning the wedding turned out to be its own kind of adventure. They learned that with a bit of heart, a lot of effort, and a shared spreadsheet or two, they could figure out almost anything. Every decision felt like a love letter written in logistics. They realized they made a good team — not just in the cute stuff, but in the work too. And now, here you are, reading their little story. You, the family, the friends, the cheering squad, are the colors in their canvas. They’re grateful. Deeply, happily, cheesily grateful.
So here they are. Married. A pasutri. Officially teammates in this long, unpredictable game called life. There are goals to chase, prayers whispered in quiet corners, and a thousand more inside jokes waiting to be born. They know it won’t all be easy, but they also know, together, it’ll always be worth it. Through every loop and drop of this rollercoaster ride, they hope to keep laughing, keep learning, and keep loving.
And to you, dear reader: thank you. For witnessing this beginning. Please send your warmest wishes their way, they’ll carry it with them wherever life goes next.
Thank you for being such an important part of our lives and for sharing this special moment with us. Your time, presence, and well-wishes mean the world to us, and will be the very first bricks in building our life together.
With love,
Naufal & Dinda
